Kazuko Okamoto
Kazuko Okamoto is a Japanese furniture and product designer, born in Chiba, Japan. She graduated from Tokyo’s ICS College of Arts in 1998 and worked in Japan for around a decade before moving to Europe. In 2008, she began working independently as a freelance designer, eventually establishing her professional base in Milan while continuing to work internationally.
Her design philosophy combines functionality with originality, often exploring playful and practical ways of using furniture. She has designed products for international companies across Europe and Japan and has received several prestigious awards, including the Red Dot Award in 2016 and the German Design Award in 2018.
