Semprini con Trombatore

Roberto Semprini is an Italian architect and designer known for his strong dialogue between design and art. After studying architecture at the University of Florence, he became involved in the Bolidist movement in the late 1980s, which influenced his transition toward the Milanese design scene. His work is often associated with “new organic design,” characterized by fluid curves, spirals and dynamic forms rather than rigid geometric structures. Semprini is also a professor and the founder and artistic director of the Barocco & Neobarocco Festival in Ragusa Ibla.

Alessandro Trombatore is an emerging Italian designer whose work combines contemporary design with influences from art, architecture and historical aesthetics. A graduate of the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan, he has participated in projects and exhibitions connected with the Barocco & Neobarocco Festival. In 2026, he collaborated with Roberto Semprini on the Fontana sideboard for Tonin Casa, presented at the Salone del Mobile in Milan. Inspired by Lucio Fontana’s iconic slashed canvases, the design transforms the artist’s signature cuts into curved glass elements, creating dynamic reflections and a distinctive interplay of light, depth and movement.
