Description

As a modular sofa, Domus embodies the concept of versatility. It places itself at the service of the space around it, configuring itself as a quiet and comfortable island, an architecture of volumes in constant relationship with what is happening around it. Its backs are inspired by the shape and concept of a traditional Japanese snack (onigiri), an iconic expression of simplicity that, re-proposed on the scale of contemporary living, creates a microcosm in which to live and express daily gestures in a space that becomes both intimate and relational.

Borgonovo + Valsecchi

Borgonovo + Valsecchi is an Italian design duo formed by Massimo Borgonovo and Simone Valsecchi, both born and raised in Brianza. They studied Industrial Design at the Politecnico di Milano and continued their professional training through collaborations with established architecture and design studios, including Rodolfo Dordoni Architetti and Studio ViganĂ². Their early experience included interior design, retail projects, and furniture development for leading Italian companies.

In 2024, Borgonovo and Valsecchi brought their experience together under FOG Borgonovo + Valsecchi, a multidisciplinary design project focused on research, storytelling, and the poetic aspects of design. Their approach combines rational thinking and knowledge of industrial production with an appreciation for craftsmanship, materials, and emotional expression. They have also worked as ghost designers for major Italian fashion brands and developed furniture projects for companies including Cantori and Tonin Casa.
