Description
Designed by Giampiero Tagliaferri, Libra is a coffee table with a distinctive modern design in two shapes: rectangular and square. It is characterised by refined construction details that evoke the aesthetics and geometry of the Libra table. The top features an inverted “C“ section, in marble, stone or wood, and is accentuated by a recessed chrome metal band along the shorter sides. The legs consist of bases made from polished chrome tubular elements, supporting a metal plate that holds the top, giving the coffee table a visually light appearance.
Top finishes։ Travertine, Belvedere granite, Pierre Bleue, Giallo Siena and Calacatta marble tops are 20 mm thick and available in contoured, smoothed or brushed finishes. MDF tops are 19 mm thick and feature either Canaletto walnut veneer in Light Brown open-pore stain or brushed ash veneer in Licorice lacquer, complemented by a contoured solid wood border. Stone, granite and marble tops feature stain-resistant treatment and mitre-fold construction with 15 mm sides. The 50 mm underpanel is finished with Light Wood slats in matt black lacquer, while rectangular versions feature a chrome-finished metal strip on the short side.
Legs։ The base features 8 mm thick matt black metal blades supported by Ø25 mm cylindrical bars with a polished chrome finish. The 50×50 cm coffee table base combines Ø22 mm vertical rods and Ø25 mm horizontal bars, joined for stability and finished in polished chrome. Adjustable black SEBS feet complete the structure.
Designer
Giampiero Tagliaferri
The collaboration between Minotti and Giampiero Tagliaferri, architectural and interior designer with studios in Los Angeles and Milan, kicks off in 2024. The designer’s aesthetic approach is inspired by his bond with the two cities, reflecting the intersection of 20th century Italian design and Southern California modernism.
In this way, the delicate Milanese balance of ornament and essence, splendour and discretion blends harmoniously with Californian simplicity, understated elegance and the sensual interplay of light, colour and landscape, resulting in a distinctive and evocative design language in harmony with the brand’s style and taste.
