Description

Horizonte Bed is the natural evolution of the night area of the Horizonte modular seating system, designed by Marcio Kogan / Studio MK27. Its design is defined by a rigorous, lightweight horizontal line that forms the raised base supporting the mattress and headboard. The base is available entirely in leather or fabric, or in a refined combination of both. Tailored seams and refined detailing enhance its haute couture character, while the mixed version features a practical zip for easy cover removal. Its lightweight appearance is enhanced by recessed feet in polished Brandy varnished metal and a rear panel that supports the nightstand, available in different wood finishes. Horizonte Bed is a versatile, highly customisable system, available in all-fabric, all-leather and mixed-material versions.

Structure: One-piece free-standing bed frame in very thick, metal-reinforced plywood, with perforated materials for improved air circulation. The structure is padded with high-resilience, variable-density polyurethane foam. The one-piece headboard combines plywood and elastic webbing with high-resilience polyurethane foam, breathable quilted polyester fibre and hypoallergenic white cotton fabric. Inside, a soft bag filled with siliconised microfibre made from certified 100% recycled PET provides additional comfort and softness.

OFFSET CONFIGURATION: Consists of two upholstered panels attached to the posterior side of the headboard. One-piece panels in metal-reinforced plywood covered with quilted heat-bonded polyester fibre. All of the materials employed in manufacturing the quilting are hypoallergenic and made with recycled materials. The panels and the headboard are attached to each other and to the bed frame. Included are 2 nightstands left and right (SX and DX) attached to the panels.

FIT CONFIGURATION: Single rear panel in metal-reinforced plywood, covered with quilted heat-bonded polyester fibre. All quilting materials are hypoallergenic and made from recycled materials. The panel and headboard are securely attached to the bed frame. Two optional nightstands, left and right, can be attached to the sommier. Upholstery is available in all-fabric with central piping, all-leather with double-stitched leather detailing, or in a MIX version combining leather and fabric with a hidden zipper for easy removal.

Nightstands Structure: Boxed MDF structure, 20 mm thick with 45° assembly, available in ash, oak or Santos palisander veneer in various finishes. The 20 mm MDF base has a matt black lacquer finish, while the drawer interior matches the exterior. A polished Brandy varnished metal handle and a cable slot in the matching top complete the design. The drawer features full-extension Blumotion guides for smooth, soft closing.

Nightstands Covers: upholstery in fabric or leather is completely removable. Removal of the headboard upholstery is possible by lifting the headboard out of the bed frame by means of levers located underneath the bed.

Nightstands Feet: made of 25 mm Ø satin-finish solid metal rods, varnished polished Brandy colour, with varnished polished brandy colour metal tip. Where included, the nightstand bases are made of processed sheet metal, also varnished polished Brandy colour. Adjustable black polyethylene glides.

INFORMATION ABOUT THE SOMMIER AND HEADBOARD UPHOLSTERY: The sommier and headboard are available in all-leather or all-fabric upholstery. Alternatively, the sommier can be upholstered in Nature Leather with a fabric headboard, or in a MIX version with the upper part in fabric and lower part in Nature Leather. In the MIX version, the fabric must match the headboard.

INFORMATION REGARDING UPHOLSTERY OF THE PANEL(S) OFFSET/FIT: The OFFSET/FIT panels are available in all-leather or all-fabric upholstery, or in a MIX version with the front in fabric and the rear in Nature Leather. When the sommier and headboard are in the MIX version, the panel fabric must match the selected fabric.

INFORMATIONS REGARDING UPHOLSTERY AND COVERS: Available in all-fabric or all-leather upholstery. Alternatively, the base can be upholstered in Nature Leather with fabric armrests, seat and backrest cushions, or in a MIX version with the upper part in fabric and lower part in Nature Leather. In the MIX version, the fabric must match the upholstered elements.

Benches Structure: in plywood of various thicknesses. The structure is coated in high-resilience, variable-density polyurethane foam. The special upholstery on the base can be crafted in entirely in fabric, featuring an all-leather central trim element that marks the seam between the two sections, which are joined with a strip of double-stitched leather (tailoring technique used in fine luggage); or, with a lower section in leather and upper section in fabric, joined by a hidden zipper that allows the upholstery to be removed.

Benches Cushions: made of many layers of variable-density, high resilience polyurethane foam. Encased in breathable heat-bonded polyester quilted fibre laminated to white cotton fabric. Inside the quilt is a bag padded with siliconised microfibre - with a low coefficient of friction - which completely conforms to the structure; this very soft, fluffy padding is obtained from certified 100% recycled PET. All of the materials employed in manufacturing the quilt are hypoallergenic.

Benches Covers: completely removable in all versions (fabric or leather).

Benches Feet: made of 25 mm Ø satin-finish solid metal rods, varnished polished Brandy colour, with varnished polished Brandy colour metal tip. Adjustable black polyethylene glides.

N.B.: given the structure of the bed, it is not possible to insert a slatted base or adjust mattress height. The bed headboard and accessories do not require attachment to a wall.

Designer

Marcio Kogan / Studio MK27

The partnership between Minotti and Brazilian architect Marcio Kogan began in 2017. Marcio Kogan approached the world of architecture and opened the Studio MK27 in São Paolo at the end of the seventies: volcanic and rigorous, attentive to the pure volumes and simple shapes of his designs, as well as the details and finishes, he favours open, squared architectures - which aesthetically and stylistically merge in and out - characterised by floor-to-ceiling windows that erase the boundary with the outdoors.

With a design style inspired by nature, the warm woods of his homeland, and the clean lines of his architectural works, in 2018, he created the Quadrado outdoor seating system for Minotti, approaching the world of design with brilliance for the first time.
